He's been asking for chilli to go with his food and he eats my maternal grandma's home-made chilli heartily-- Indonesian made chilli padi sauce, no joke man! :D He has a super super good appetite and I was super consoled to see that!! He's healthy and can joke somemore.
His 7 children and spouses, (even more) grandchildren and (few) great-grandchildren have been flowing in steadily to keep him company. All the chatter and laughter makes it a very lively atmosphere! They were saying how I was mimicking Grandpa at a super young age of 2 (:X) And Daddy has been spending the nights there too. Shows how much care and concern we all have for him :D It's kind of good that most of Grandpa's children are working under him too.
Cuiyan made a very funny comment today but it seemed rather apt:
"The Emperor is eating now"
Hahahaha because the whole room will fuss over his temperature of water, his degree / height of his bed, will be busy unwrapping the food, arranging plates, making sure everything's comfy for Ah Gong :D
I hope he stays healthy and live to more than a 100 years old :D He has a fierce pride I admire, and would get up and down the bed to go to the toilet, with ease too albeit a little out of breath after and not seek help. He has been through a lot that moulded him this way I guess, from raising 7 kids to setting up his own company to having us little pests jumping on his bed since young :D And he's really funny in his own way :)
He's a bit like my Dad, shy, funny, strong determination to a little point of being stubborn hahaha :D And it feels good to see all the aunts, uncles and cousins again, one warm, biig, close-knitted happy family.
I wish there wasn't the language barrier though, I feel so impaired not being able to communicate with him. Hear his life story through WWII and the hardships and all. But I hope he feels it silently! How I attempt to speak to him and go all frowning when he replies hahaha :D
I hope you are as fit as a dragon and healthy and have a long long life to see more of your grandchildren get married and have great-great-grandchildren Ah Gong!
Mum + Uncle + Grandma now doing some catching up. Hard to do so when Grandma's 3 children are living in 2 different countries, 3 different states.
Family ties bind the strongest, blood is thicker than water and the value of kinship cannot be imagined.
