Real

Went to the National Museum today to see the Greek Masterpieces from the Louvre on display! Got quite a bit of insight and it's quite awe-inspiring to be in the prescence of artefacts from thousands of years ago before common era. Drew some parallels with Brave New World which reminds me, I have to re-read that to find out and rediscover the book.

My favourite sculpture! The sculptor managed to get the toga to look all translucent because it's supposed to depict Aphrodite coming out of a bath! Amazing. Though I don't think Aphrodite was much of a looker (And HJ scoffed at me) despite being the Goddess of Love and the most beautiful one?

House outing after that! Didn't go to ECP in the end but the turn-out was pretty alright, right? Approx. 20 maybe! We kept having trouble deciding what to do though, walk stop walk stop in the end we went to Katong cause some of them wanted to play pool. I played cards and watched them! Our next house outing will be more fun and better! I hope more people would be enthusiastic!! Hugest turn-up was from OG12 :D

Sidenote: I have to do power training on my own oh gosh.

Anyway, I have to study harder man!!! Grrrrrrrrrr.
Here's a quote from the Epoctetus I could 100% relate to I couldn't resist copying down:

You say 'I want to win at Olympics!' But wait. Look at what is involved... You will have to obey instructions, keep away from desserts, eat only at set hours, in both heat, and cold; you must not drink cold water nor can you have a drink of wine whenever you want to. You must hand yourselves to your coach exactly as you would to a doctor. Then in the contest you must gouge and be gouged; there will be times when you sprain a wrist, twist your ankle, swallow mouthfuls of sand and be flogged.

And after all there are times when you will lose.
